Suggestions for projects

• Analysis and design of network protocol processors for high-performance or low-energy (in the style of the Intel IPX2000)
• Processors for encryption/security
• (Re)configurable processing - especially related to protocol and network processing
• Exploration of application-architecture matching for a number of embedded applications (networking, communications processing, multimedia, speech recognition, security) and architectures-in-the-news (VLIW, arrays of VLIW, configurable, vector a la IRAM, Processor + accelerator)
• A shot at the definition of "flexibility"
• Architecture-space exploration
