How to Set up SourceSafe
All simulink libraries and simulations will be stored using sourcesafe. To set up
sourcesafe, do the following:
- Look under Start Menu/Programs/Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0. If you see Microsoft Visual
Sourcesafe, skip to step 3.
- Install Sourcesafe from Hitz by running s:/Visual Studio 6.0/disk 1/setup.exe. Choose
Server Applications and Tools, then add the visual sourcesafe server option and follow
instructions to complete sourcesafe installation.
- Run Start Menu/Programs/Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0/Microsoft Visual Sorce Safe/Visual
Source Safe 6.0 Admin
- Run Users/Open Sourcesafe database, browse, and select \\HITZ\Designs\scr\scrdb\srcsafe.ini
- Run Users/Add User, and insert a user name and password for yourself.
- Exit Visual Source Safe 6.0 Admin
- Run Start Menu/Programs/Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0/Microsoft Visual Sorce
Safe/Microsoft Visual Source Safe 6.0
- Choose File/Open SourceSafe Database, and select scrdb
- All libraries will be in scr/receiver/digital
- Right click on the desired library (.mdl) file. Choose Get Latest Version (DO
NOT CHOOSE "CHECK OUT" unless you first check with the designer of that simulink
library).
- You will be prompted to choose a directory to store the file. Choose a directory in your
home area on HITZ.
