Vandana Prabhu
I am a third year EECS
graduate student at UC Berkeley. I
graduated from BITS, Pilani, India with B.E.
(Hons.) Electrical and a dual M.Sc.(Hons.) Math. I worked at Texas Instruments(India),
Bangalore, for a year before joining graduate school at Berkeley.

Research
My research advisor is Prof . Jan
Rabaey. We have just completed the Pleiades project
where I was involved with the architecture & IC design of the voice coder chip Maia, the
first to use the Pleiades architecture. My ERL summary gives an
overview of my work on Maia. The effort has lead to the following publications:
1. Hui Zhang, Vandana Prabhu, Varghese George, Marlene Wan, Martin
Benes, Arthur Abnous, Jan Rabaey, "An 1 V Heterogeneous Reconfigurable
Processor IC for Baseband Wireless Applications", ISSCC, 2000
2. Marlene Wan, Hui Zhang, Varghese George, Martin Benes, Arthur Abnous, Vandana
Prabhu, Jan Rabaey, "Design Methodology of a Low-Energy Reconfigurable
Single-Chip DSP System", Journal of VLSI Signal Processing, 2000

I am now involved with the new Two Chip Intercom
and the PicoRadio research
projects at the recently inaugrated Berkeley
Wireless Research Center
