The Berkeley Wireless Research Center
is a research consortium of industry, students and faculty in the Department of EECS at the University of California at Berkeley and the Gigascale Silicon Research Center - GSRC.
Our industry members are Cadence, Ericsson,
Agilent, Intel,
ST
Microelectronics, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm
Incorporated, Atmel Corporation, Infineon Technologies
and Hitachi Limited.
Our goal is to provide an environment
for research into the design issues necessary to support next generation
wireless communication systems and to expand the graduate research program in
the wireless segment. The research
focus will be on highly integrated CMOS implementations, which have the lowest
possible energy consumption while using advanced communication algorithms. Components
will be fabricated using state-of-the-art processes and evaluated in a realistic
test environment.
We would like to acknowledge the research support from DARPA and the equipment donations
of Nortel
(Wireless PBX), Bay Networks
(Network switches and routers), Network
Appliances (RAID File Server), andSun
Microsystems (Unix Server) and the software donations from Mathworks (Matlab, Simulink and
Stateflow), Microsoft, Sonics Incorporated, Synopsys Incorporated, Tensilica Incorporated, OPNET Technologies Incorporated, Cygnus
Incorporated and Remcom Inc.
