Geolocation in a PicoRadio Environment

Jan Beutel,  M.S.1999, (advisor  Robert Brodersen)

PicoRadios are small, ultra low power, inexpensive digital radio transceivers that allow flexible communication at a relatively low bit rate over short distances.  Possible applications are to be found among distributed sensor networks, personal communicators, access and remote controls as well as locator devices.  The PicoRadio network is comprised of PicoNodes that form the configuration of the network.  A PicoNode is a single-chip implementation of a tiny, very low power configurable radio at a low system cost, energy efficiency, with configurable partitioning, in and outdoor use, with self-configuring multi-hop network, node to node and broadcasting communication capabilities, and require no special infrastructure.  The ultimate goal of this is to investigate the aspects of geolocations in a PicoRadio Environment.
