Software Packages

Required:
  • Xilinx ISE Foundation 7.1i, SP3, IP update #1
  • Xilinx System Generator 7.1i
  • Mathworks Matlab R14 (7.0.4), Simulink 6.2, StateFlow 6.2
  • Synplicity Synplify Pro V7.7.1
  • BEE Design Flow V1.0

Optional:

  • ModelSim 5.8c SE
  • Xilinx ModelSim VHDL library (Simulation, xilinxcorelib)
  • Xilinx ChipScope Pro 7.1i

Installation

  • Install BEE Design Flow V1.0
    • Unzip all to directory c:/bee_df
  • Install Xilinx Foundation ISE 7.1i
    • Install from CD to c:/xilinx.
    • Install latest patch SP3
    • Install IP update #1, unzip all files to Xilinx installation directory (c:/xilinx)
  • Install Mathworks Matlab R14
    • Add to path: c:/bee_df/mlib
  • Install Xilinx System Generator V7.1
  • Install Synplify Pro V7.7.1
    • Using network floating license option, node-locked license do NOT provide batch processing capability that is required.
  • Install ModelSim 5.8c
    • Install ModelSim, using network floating license option.
    • Install Xilinx ModelSim VHDL library by unzip it to ModelSim installation directory
    • Add to ModleSim initialization file (modelsim.ini) the following lines:
      unisim = $MODEL_TECH/../xilinx/vhdl/unisim
      simprim = $MODEL_TECH/../xilinx/vhdl/simprim
      xilinxcorelib = $MODEL_TECH/../xilinx/vhdl/xilinxcorelib
      aim = $MODEL_TECH/../xilinx/vhdl/aim
      pls = $MODEL_TECH/../xilinx/vhdl/pls
  • Install Xilinx ChipScope Pro 7.1i
  • Setup BEE related configurations
    • Check the system variable LM_LICENSE_FILE contain the proper license servers for Matlab, Synplify Pro, and ModelSim.
    • Check the system variable path contain the program directory for Xilinx, ModelSim, and Synplify Pro. i.e.,
       C:\Xilinx\bin\nt;C:\Modeltech_5.8c\win32; C:\synplicity\Synplify_771\bin
    • Create system variable XIL_XFLOW_PATH with value c:/bee_df/lib/xflow
    • Create system variable BEE_DF_PATH with value c:/bee_df
